Five minutes with Greg
You will never catch him watching Eastenders, and you better not walk out in front of him whilst he's driving 🚗 But if you want to get in his good books, take him on a trip to Hogwarts with Eric Cantona and teach him how to do some carpentry whilst you're at it.
What is your favourite saying or quote? No pain no gain! It’s true, you don't get anywhere in life without a bit of hard work.
What is the best thing about working at Ocasta? The people, everyone is friendly with a good sense of humour... and it doesn't hurt that it's just three minutes from my front door 🏡.
Is there anything which really annoys you? I don't like the sound of people eating, it turns my stomach 🤢 but what annoys me the most is when people walk in front of you when you're driving and, even worse, if they don't say sorry 😡.
Who is your hero? Well when I was a kid it was, and maybe it still is, Eric Cantona. He's a legend and played football with his collar up which made him pretty cool, he also stood up for himself and seemed like a good (if a bit violent) person. I went to Kuala Lumpur last year and he was plastered all over the place on mobile phones ads which was a bit disappointing but at least I got to see his face... a lot!
Which hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue? I would like to do a bit of carpentry. I like making things but it takes a long time because I'm just making it up as I go. I’ve made some tables and shelves and actually ran out of room in my house so I've sold some at car boot sales and to friends, so they must've been fairly good. I'd like to learn how to do it properly though.
Which fictional place would you most like to go? Hogwarts, I like Harry Potter a bit too much for a 33 year old. I've been to Harry Potter World, it is pretty awesome but the real deal would be much better. The Butterbeer was good 🍺 it was like an ice cream float. Which job would you be terrible at? A doctor, as I have no medical training.
What is your hobby? Running, I've run a marathon every year for the last 6 years and am aiming to get to 10 in 10 years. Next up is Berlin this September. Running is a good way to get outside and have a think or just zone out and listen to music while getting some fresh air 🏃🏻.
🎧 What’s the longest run you’ve ever done? I ran the Doyen of the Downs which was a 30 mile ultra marathon but we ended up running 31 miles because we got lost. I did it with my two older brothers and, somehow, we won it. We got a trophy 🏆 it was a very hilly route and took us around six hours. After we completed it they didn't do the race again so we're still the reigning champions 💪.
What would be your first question after waking up from being frozen for 100 years? Can you get hover boards like in Back to the Future yet?
What TV show or film do you refuse to watch? Any soap opera, I just think they waste a lot of time for people 📺 You sit there virtually every day watching pretend people who live depressing lives when you could be getting on with your own life!
What is the best day of the year? Hmm I'm not sure, probably any day I'm away somewhere nice on holiday. I know my favourite time last year was when we went to Borneo. We saw Orangutans, lots of lizards 🦎 and did a lot of snorkelling on some amazing beaches 🏝
