'A day in the life at Ocasta' directed & created by Ben our work experience student

Ocasta recently welcomed a lovely student called Ben who worked with us for a week to practice his video production skills. He joined us from BDMA as part of his work experience to complement his media course at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy.

Let's face it, we've all been there... stuck in the vicious cycle of trying to look for a job but everyone wants experience, but you can't get experience if no one will give you the job in the first place.🙄 We understand how crucial work experience is for students, building their confidence, giving them an insight into the working world and helping them land their first job when they leave education.

BDMA shared a few quotes which summed up the student's involvement during the 1-week programmes.😀

'It’s prepared me - wherever I end up working I hope it’s as good as here. And it’s opened up the world of digital marketing to me - a lot more interesting than I had first thought.'

'It’s flattering to have a major company ask my opinion and suggestions - gives me a boost and makes me think I’m more able to do things than I think I am.'

'I didn’t think I’d enjoy it this much - but I am a lot. We got a very warm welcome and everyone takes their time to tell you what you need to know. And we’re treated the same as everyone else, everyone really friendly, very relaxed.'

It was great to understand Ben's ideas and interests, giving us a fresh pair of eyes to look at the way we do things. We tasked Ben with the responsibility to create 'A day in the life' video which would capture a working day here at the Ocasta studios.
