Five minutes with Jim

Jim shares the best holiday he’s ever been on ✈️, his favourite tv show and what animal he would be in another life. He chats about his love of travelling 🌍 and what he misses from his childhood.

What’s the best holiday you’ve ever been on?

My wife and I went to New Zealand for a year to do a working holiday and we got engaged there 💍. We did a whistle-stop tour of the island and then stopped for a bit longer in Wellington.

What’s your favourite food? 🍽

Chinese takeaway, I usually get crispy shredded honey chilli chicken 😋. I've also started cooking so enjoy making classic meals like shepherd's pie and things like that.

What habits do you wish you could stop?

I bite my nails, as a 37-year-old man it’s not really ideal 💅, I only really do it when I’m stressed.

If you were an animal, what animal would you be? 🐆

Maybe a dog seems. It seems like a good life, sleeping on the sofa  💤and going for walks 🦮

What do you regret when you get to the end of the year?

I’m bad at catching up with friends when I get invited. I always forget, or I don’t go. So I definitely try to make more of an effort in the new year.

What’s your favourite film? 🎬

The Princess Bride, or What We Do in the Shadows it’s a funny mockumentary which follows these vampires around trying to live a normal life.

Is there anything you find frustrating?

I’m renowned in my friendship group for being the chill one so nothing really. However, I do get annoyed at bad drivers and things that don’t work properly.

What would you love to do more of? ❤️

Probably travel. Me and my wife used to travel quite a bit but now we have kids and we’ve also moved house so our budget is a little tighter.

Which dead celebrity would you bring back to life?

Can I save this one for when David Attenborough goes?

What’s the best thing about working at Ocasta?

It’s the people, everyone is really friendly and welcoming and I like the Donuts 🍩 too (Random 15-minute chats we have every week).

What do you miss most about your childhood?

I get nostalgic sitting cross-legged in front of my games console and just playing computer games for hours 🎮. I don’t even have one any more, I sometimes play on my PC but not much.

What do you want to do when you retire?

Probably just chill, maybe go travelling✈️. I don't think I would ever completely retire, I’d always need something to keep me occupied.
